I. Scholarship Information:

1. Two scholarships will be awarded to senior athletes as follows (minimum):

$1,000.00 - Male Athlete

$1,000.00 - Female Athlete

2. Scholarships will be based as follows:

70% - Athletics

30% - Academics

3. Recipient must be attending college but is not required to play any sport(s) in college.

4. Athlete must complete the scholarship application.

5. Athlete must secure a recommendation from two (2) of their coaches.

6. Selection committee includes the following:

High School Principal

Athletic Director

Piqua Indian Athletic Booster Officers (4)

7. Scholarships will be given at Class Night.

8. Checks will be made payable to athlete and college at the beginning of the second quarter or semester.

9. Deadline for application is April 15th.

II. Selection Process:

1. Each member of the selection committee will judge each applicant in two areas - athletics and academics. Points will be awarded on a scale of one (1) through ten (10) with one (1) being lowest and ten (10) being the highest.

2. The athletic score will be multiplied by seven (7) and the academic score will be multiplied bythree (3). The results will be added together to acquire the athlete's total score from each judge.

3. Each athlete will have their six (6) total scores added together for their final score.

4. The highest final score in each category (male and female) will be the recipient of the scholarship.

5. In case of a tie, a vote by secret ballot will be taken. The athlete receiving a majority vote willbe the winner.

NOTE: Any athlete receiving a full scholarship of any kind WILL NOTbe eligible for the $1000.00 scholarship. The Piqua Indian Athletic Boosters consider a full scholarship to be tuition, room and board.
