The Smart Skills program continues our commitment to reaching out across Australia,

[Students performing experiment at desks]

taking what we do here in Canberra out to communities in need wherever they are, wherever we can reach across Australia.

Karina Judd:

We come in with smart devices and hands-on learning and it's exciting, it's new and it's really caters to different learning styles.

Student:

[Student speaking]

So we started off on tablets doing this design program on the Samsung tablets and then we use those skills to build our own like, resources we've been part of.

Student:

[Student speaking]

It's hands-on and we get to test out what we've done the tablets and yeah, it’s fun.

Philip Newton:

[Philip Newton speaking]

It's fantastic to be here at the official launch of our technology partnership with Questacon and Samsung Electornics. It's a great day for us.

The Hon. Karen Andrews:

[Karen Andrews speaking]

And I think that it's so important what this partnership is actually going to represent going forward because we know that the jobs of the future,

[Karen Andrews watching students doing experiment]

75 percent of those jobs will require significant skills in science,

technology, engineering and maths.

[Program instructor handing out tablets to students]

The program and the contribution is a wonderful example of what things can be achieved when we have the government and private sector working together for the future.

Stuart Kohlhagen:

I'd like to thank Samsung for their partnership and their sponsorship in this regard. It really is an investment in the future of Australia and one which we're proud to be part of. Thank you.
