August10th,2016
Dear Scientists,
We cordially invite you to the 5thscientific symposium of the interdisciplinary graduate school for natural product research at the Saarland University.
The members of the graduate school enrolled in this multidisciplinary program originate from diverse scientific backgrounds such as organic chemistry, pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry as well as pharmaceutical biotechnology. Within the last three years, the graduate school and the number of its participants were constantly growing. Today we count nineteen PhD students joining the program in addition to their PhD program. This year we will take leave of the first generation of graduates, which have successfully completed their PhD work and their graduate school program.
Our fifth symposium held this summer will again give new members of the graduate school the opportunity to present their work and the projects planned to theircolleagues and our guests. As for last year’s symposium we are cordially inviting external PhD students from related scientific fields to present their research projects in form of a poster or an oral presentation.
To complete the event, Dr. LutzPetzke will give a talk about “Natural products in White Biotechnology at BASF”.
After an interesting afternoon touching on many aspects of natural product research, we will have a get-together with a traditional Saarland barbecue. We are very pleased to welcome you for vivid discussions and lively exchange around the topic of natural product research in Saarbrücken.
