Cellphones and other devices with internet/texting capabilities may NOT be used in class (without teacher permission), even as a calculator. Phones may be confiscated and turned in to the main office.

Grading Scale:

A: 90-100% B: 80-89% C: 70-79% D: 60-69% F: below 60%

Quarter Grading:

You will be graded in the following categories:

·  70% Summative Assessments (Chapter Tests)

·  30% Formative Assessments (Daily Practice problems, Daily Quizzes, etc)

Semester Grading:

·  Your quarter grades will account for 85% of your semester grade.

·  The semester exam will account for 15% of your semester grade.

Geometry Honors Policies

Assignment Policy:

·  You can expect daily practice problems. These will be checked for completion and may periodically be checked for accuracy. After the chapter test, late work for that chapter will not receive credit.

·  Practice problems will be posted in the classroom.

·  Students that do not complete their problems on time will be sent to the ZAP room to complete them. The ZAP room is located in B-154 (next to the computer lab in the library)

Attendance Policy: (See Century’s attendance policy for more details)

·  Students are to be in their assigned chair when the tone sounds or they will be marked tardy.

·  Students are expected to ask for assignments in advance for pre-excused

absences such as field trips, sport events, appointments, and vacations.

·  Students will be expected to have homework completed and complete tests and quizzes upon return from school functions as scheduled.

Discipline Policy:

·  Students are expected to fully cooperate. Students will generally receive a warning for inappropriate behavior. If the behavior continues, parent contacts and/or office referrals will follow.

·  Serious matters will result in a referral to the office without warning.

Cheating Policy:

If a student cheats on an assessment (getting or providing assistance) any/all students involved

will receive a 0 on the assessment with NO opportunity to retake it. Parents will also be

contacted.
