TIMBERWOOD PANTHER TRACK AND FIELD POLICIES

CONGRATULATIONS ON BECOMING A MEMBER OF THE 2016 LADY PANTHER TRACK TEAM!!

Each athlete has received a copy of the of these track policies. Please review them with your child, sign and return to the coaches no later than March 1st.

1.  NO PRACTICE = NO MEET

•  Athletes are expected to attend practice EVERY DAY!

•  Any athlete who consistently misses practice may not be allowed to participate in track meets.

•  Athletes are expected to communicate with the coaches about other school-related events or activities.

•  Students will NOT be excused for missing practices or meets for outside sports or non-school related activities.

**Please remember that our school competition is top priority during the season. Although we encourage and welcome outside competition, please know that you are a part of the TMS Track and Field team and you have an obligation and responsibility to your teammates and coaches.

2.  TUTORIALS

•  Team members will not be penalized for attending tutorials; however, tutorials are for students to receive extra help from their teachers.

•  Tutorials are not to be abused and used to get out of practice.

3.  EQUIPMENT (meet uniform or sweats)

•  Any equipment left out or unsecured will be taken up & consequences will follow.

•  Any lost or stolen equipment must be paid for by the athlete before receiving replacement equipment.

4.  INJURIES

•  All injuries must be reported to the coaches immediately.

•  Any athlete with a note from a doctor or trainer may only be released to participate by the doctor or trainer who issued the original note.

5.  TRAVEL RELEASE

•  Travel release form must be turned in prior to our departure from TMS for that meet day (available on the TMS Girls Athletics Webpage).

•  Athletes will ONLY be released to parents or legal guardians listed on file in the office! Please do not ask us to make exceptions!!!!

•  Parents must pay to enter the stadium at each meet, even when coming in to check out your children. This is a district rule and will be enforced at all sites.

•  Athletes will not be allowed to leave until they have completed all events.

•  A coach will be placed near the entrance for those parents who have completed a travel release form. Please make eye contact and wave at the coach so we know who is picking up your child.

•  All students who do not turn in a signed travel release form will return to TMS by bus.

•  Athletes who do not follow these guidelines may not be allowed to attend track meets.

6.  EMERGENCY FORM

This is not part of the travel release. The names provided on the form are for the purpose of contacting an adult in the event the parent or legal guardian(s) cannot be reached. For example, if your child has to be transported to the hospital and we can't reach you, we would use the form for a designated contact person.

7.  TRACK MEET EXPECTATIONS

·  Athletes are expected to participate in all assigned events.

·  Warm up properly before each event for at least 10-15 minutes.

·  Students should be sitting in the bleachers when not competing in an event. Failure to do so will result in meet suspension and/or consequences by the coach.

·  Parents/Guardians are not allowed on the field for any reason.

·  Only water is allowed at track meets.
