Community Based First Aid Volunteer Group Finder

Location / Manchester office
Overall purpose of the
Role / To find community groups in Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside who fit our criteria for free first aid training. To give them information about the training, and encourage them to use our services.
Likely Time Commitment / Two hours, once a week, between 9-5 Monday to Friday.

Typical Tasks

Finding new groups for the BRCS to train. This may involve internet searches, telephone calls to the groups, and other ways of finding new groups.

Recording all telephone calls and searches, so that the stream of work can be picked up by other staff and volunteers if needed.

Passing on the group’s details to a member of staff if the group want to book a session.

Promotingthe work of the BRCS generally, when in telephone calls with other organisations.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

To deliver all service in line the BRC service standards and local service agreements.

To uphold the fundamental principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and to abide by the BRC Equal Opportunities Policy.

To work within the BRC Health and Safety Policy and to maintain a safe working environment at all times.

To ensure records are kept, in line with service standards and to treat all information given by service users and BRC staff and volunteers as confidential.

To suggest any ideas for the development of the service to the Service Head.

To take part in training and development appropriate to the role.
