Open House Incentive

Resolve to hold an Open House in January to get new members for your clubs and earn the opportunity to win prizes.

Retaining members is essential to the health of a club, and gaining new members is equally vital to its success. For potential members visiting a club, first impressions are paramount. District 55’s new Open House incentive is a great way for clubs to make that first impression a positive one and to attract new members.

Follow these simple steps:

Step one. Register your club to receive marketing materials.

Any Club that hosts an Open House during January will receive a Membership Building Kit (Item # 1160 - $10.00 value). To receive the kit, the Club must submit the initial planning details for their open house (date and time plus the Contact Point in the Club) to no later than January 3.

Step two. Send in the sign in sheet after the open house.

After the open house takes place, email your completed, signed guest list to by February 7 in order to be eligible to participate in the drawing for prizes.

Step three. Close the sale. Turn those guests into members.

For each new member who joins as a result of the open house, the club’s name will be entered in a drawing for the following prizes:

1.  Banner (or District 55 voucher equivalent)

2.  Choice of the new Interpersonal Communication kit for youth OR a Speechcraft Kit.

3.  Both a Chat Pack for Table Topics (NEW this year from TI) and a Stop Watch

The drawing will be held at the DEC meeting on March 10, and the prize will be presented at the District Spring Conference on April 28.

Each new member which qualifies a club for the drawing must have been on the applicable open house guest list. The member's join date must be in January or February of 2012.

Membership applications and payment for members must be received at World Headquarters or online no later than February 29. Clubs do not get credit for transfer or charter members.

Note: If you take pictures at your open house, please send them to so they can be featured in a future marketing newsletter.

Open House Showcase from Toastmasters International

Toastmasters is offering a 30% discount on your next club order for the open houses in January which gain the most members. To participate in this incentive, follow the rules for the District 55 Initiative with a few additions:

Hold a successful open house in January to ring in the new year!

After the open house takes place, email your complete marketing package to (and a copy to ) with your club name and club number in the subject line and include the following (bulleted items must be included to qualify):

·  A completed, signed guest list

·  Pictures of the event

·  The open house agenda

·  Sample marketing materials used to host the open house

·  Your advertising plan

You may also send video footage if you'd like.

As many as 50 of the clubs that gain the most new members as a result of their open house events will receive a 30% discount on their next club order. If any ties occur, the quality of the clubs' marketing packages will determine the winner.

Complete marketing packages must be received by February 7.

The 30% discount expires six months from date of issue and is not valid with any other offer.
