Job Purpose: / To successfully implement Concern Worldwide UK’s Individual Giving strategy,focusing on acquiring and retaining support and engagement from regular giving supporters.
Main duties &
Responsibilities: /
  • To contribute to the strategic direction and targets of the Individual Giving Team and to the development of the annual departmental operational plan.
  • To lead the full development and implementationof a regular giving product, with a supporting suite of bespoke welcome journey communications.
  • To lead Concern’s on-going donor retention strategy. This includes:Refining and expanding the current welcome journey including redeveloping welcome communications such as packs, emails and SMS; KPI monitoring and reporting; Redeveloping a programme of Thanking.
  • Management of activity for the recruitment of regular givers, utilising a variety of channels, including: DRTV, Digital, Face-to-Face (including Street and Door), and Telemarketing.
  • To monitor and report on budgets for all campaigns and assist in building future expenditure and income targets.
  • Management of donordevelopment activity using channels such as Direct mail, Digital and Telemarketing.
  • Assisting with the development of Concern UK’s regional fundraising program where there are different target markets and levels of brand awareness.
  • Working with the Individual Giving Manager to identify and develop new initiatives and income streams.
  • Line management of the Direct Marketing Executive(s); including training and coaching, day-to-day task delegation, supervision and performance monitoring, setting objective and conducting annual appraisals.
  • To ensure that campaigns are where possible integrated or co-ordinated thematically, creatively and/or by target audience to maximise impact.
  • To work closely with the Data Analyst to review direct marketing campaigns and ensure that analysis is used to maximise response and income for future campaigns.
  • To work with the Individual Giving Team to implement, and where necessary review, the Emergency Fundraising Strategy.
  • To assist in the training of external agencies, effectively communicating the work of Concern to key representatives.
  • Work closely with Donor Care in NI, UK fundraising teams,and other departments to ensure integrated working and consistent messaging.
  • Travel to meetings in Dublin & Belfast where necessary.

Person specification: / Essential:
  • At least three year’s experience in a direct marketing environment (preferably in the charity sector).
  • Degree or equivalent qualification (i.e. marketing qualification).
  • Strong planning skills, with the ability to deliver multiple projects on time and within budget.
  • Line management experience of at least one person, with ability to manage multiple priorities of both yourself and others.
  • Experience of managing one or more of the following activities: DRTV, Face to face fundraising, and Direct Mail.
  • Experience of working with external suppliers to deliver successful direct marketing campaigns.
  • Experience of using a database for effective direct marketing.
  • Highly numerate with experience of both income and expenditure budget management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written skills including experience of writing and commenting on marketing copy.
  • Strong IT skills including experience of working with excel to carry out complex campaign analysis and demonstrable understanding of campaign segmentation and testing to enhance campaign performance.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
Desirable:
  • Experience of working in a fundraising department.
  • Good understanding of delivering excellent customer service/donor care.
  • Experience of online and mobile fundraising.
  • Experience of working in a marketing context across different regions.
  • Knowledge of legal requirements linked to direct marketing and data protection legislation.
  • Knowledge of gift aid processes.
