Position Title:Coordinator, Research & Leadership Giving

Reports To:Manager,Prospect Development & Research

Work Location: Primarily based out of Trillium Health Partners’ Foundation office, MississaugaHospital Site, with some work executed across all three sites of Trillium Health Partners: Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga Hospital, and Queensway Health Centre.

Trillium Health Partners is the largest community-based academic health network in Ontario serving over 1.5 million residents of the communities of Mississauga, Peel Region, and west Toronto. The hospital encompasses three main sites – the Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga Hospital, and Queensway Health Centre – offering a full range of acute care hospital services, as well as being the designated regional care centre for several programs including paediatrics, cardiac, renal, and cancer care.

Working with donors, Trillium Health Partners Foundation (THPF) raises the critical funds needed to address the highest priority needs of Trillium Health Partners, specifically in the areas of building and revitalizing patient spaces; equipment and technology; and research, education, and innovation.

POSITION OVERVIEW

This position reports directly to the Manager, Prospect Development & Research and will provide direct support for major gift cultivation initiatives in two key areas: research and coordination of activities/meetings related to prospect cultivation.

In supporting prospect research, the Coordinator, Research & Leadership Giving will work with the Manager to proactively identify prospective donors who have financial capacity and philanthropic interests by providing a clear picture to enable movement of prospective donors through the cultivation process toward solicitation of a gift.

In supporting major gift cultivation initiatives, the Coordinator, Research & Leadership Giving will provide administrative support/coordination for meetings, mailings, correspondence and data entry.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Prospect Research

  • Assist with identification and qualification of new leadership giving prospects
  • Craft and develop prospect research profiles for Leadership and Board Members
  • Interpret findings from research activities and enter research, update, maintain information on prospects/donors in the Raiser’s Edge database
  • Track local and national news, prospect/donor alerts as it relates to the Foundation’s constituents, as well as economic and philanthropic trends more generally

Administrative support to Leadership Giving team

  • Schedule appointments and meetings for the AVP and manage the calendar as required
  • Input actions into the Raiser’s Edge donor database for donor activity of the President & CEO and AVP, Leadership Giving
  • Prepare agendas and meeting materials and provide hands-on support during meetings and special events as required
  • Coordination of meetings including scheduling, agendas, taking minutes, follow up actions, etc.
  • Manage cultivation event invitation lists and responses
  • Coordination of on-site activity for key donor meetings
  • Manage distribution of holiday cards and stewardship materials

QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES

  • 1-3 years’ experience in a fundraising environment
  • Understanding ofprospect research and development
  • Creative, inquisitive, strategic thinker with the ability to work with ambiguity
  • Exceptional writing skills
  • Knowledge of the range of resources available to prospect researchers and the ability to apply those resources
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial disclosure documents for the purposes of wealth assessment
  • Understanding of fundraising practices and procedures specifically as related to large comprehensive campaigns
  • Exhibits a high level of maturity and aptitude for working in a fast-paced environment; demonstrates ability to work autonomously, competently handles multiple tasks, sets priorities and meets deadlines
  • Detail oriented and focused on quality; strong organizational, and analytical skills

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Donor/Client database experience – Raiser’s Edge
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office – PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • University or other post-secondary education is preferred
  • Experience in the not-for-profit sector an asset, but not required

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Willingness to work flexible hours. Some after-hours work will be required
  • Work will take place across the multiple sites of Trillium Health Partners and Trillium Health Partners Foundation
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle preferred
