EVENT REPRESENTATIVE

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The purpose of the Event Representative is:

·  To have a qualified individual that is knowledgeable about the rules regarding their event and to use their knowledge and experience to work from the perpsective of the competitors with Officials and Directors for the betterment of the event;

·  To provide a liason between the event competitors and the Officials, Directors and Event Committee.

Roughstock and Timed Event:

Review stock and report any concerns to either the judge or a Director:

·  Quantity (meets requirements of event)

·  Health (no visible signs of stress or injury)

Timed Event:

·  Assist in running stock through the arena prior to the first performance

·  Work with Judges to set barrier and scoreline

·  Review stock and report any concerns to either the Judge or a Director

§  Size (uniform cattle that meet rules for event)

§  Horn length

In addition to the above, the Tiedown Roping Event Representative shall also:

·  Assist the Event Director to ensure adequate number of tiedown ropers are present to tie calves prior to the first performance

·  Coordinate with Judges to determine time and location to tie calves

In addition to the above, the Steer Wrestling Event Representative will also:

·  Assist the Event Director to ensure that when necessary new or untried stock is worked accordingly (steers thrown prior to rodeo performance).

Barrel Racing Event Director:

·  Assist with marking pattern when available

·  Disuss any concerns with arena ground conditions with Judge(s) or Director

Finals:

·  Encourage top 15 competitors to complete voting lists

·  Work with Judges to set barrier and scoreline

·  Review stock and report any concerns to either the Judge or a Director

·  Assist Judges, Directors with setting pens in the roughstock events
