SUGGESTIONS FOR FINANCE COMMITTEE
EXPENSE SAVINGS
.Four Printed and one online Journal instead of 5 printed. $3461 savings of printing and postage.
.Reduce the print run from 4200 Journals. 4033 members – 435 online only Journals = 3598 member Journals needed. Where we have sent out 10 free ones, reduce that to 7 or 5 or as appropriate. $824savings on 200 Journals. $1235savings on 200 Journals.
.Find a sponsor chapter for the annual meeting. $2,938.
.Simplify Annual Meeting, or hold it alternate years.$500-$1,000.
.Office efficiency practices, through a fresh time management perspective.$Unknown.
MORE REVENUE
.Charge back the SFE fund 10% of the total scholarship amounts. For office time of sending letters and fielding announcements and providing follow up. $350; based on 10 awards and 5 year average reward amount.
.Promote more Wildest and Wilder memberships. Examples, a DVD offer, Wild Ones sunglasses (Wilder), WO sunglasses and baseball cap (Wildest). 60 more Wilder and 20 more Wildest would generate $2640 more operating revenue, less the item cost. 100+Wilder and 40+ Wildest would generate $4820more operating revenue, less the item cost.
.Raise basic membership fee to either $39 or $41. 3406 X $2 X 67.5% = $4598 for $2 increase. Double that for $4 increase to $9196. Less any non-renewals b/c of the higher rates.
.Find a program for chapter sponsorship. Items in Strategic Plan are possible vehicles.
.Create an optional 25% membership reimbursement category. 7-year old chapters would be notified with their December reimbursement that they would go to the 25% level automatically for the following year and could only go back to the 30% level through a chapter board resolution received by email by March 15. 3324 X $11.10 X .05 X.75 = $1383 with ¾ of chapters allowing the 25% level.
.Pro-rate the Elmer Krushinske fund over 3 or 4 years. $25,285 (3 year) or $18,963 (4 year).*

.Charge separate postage on merchandise sales, $2000. Alternatively hire a merchandise processor.
.Create a recognition label for top chapter donors, Gold Silver and Bronze. $300 + $200 + $100 = $600 extra.
.Direct telephone solicitation by the President of the Chapter presidents for more funding, $2,000? ($200 X 10 donor chapters.) CONTINUES…
