LYNX SERVICES® WEB SITE BACK UP TO SPEED

Retailers Advised to Register for METRYX™ Now to Avoid Future Response Time Delays

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 30, 2005 – LYNX Services® has dramatically increased its Web site capacity to handle the large volume of traffic generated by claims and the METRYX™ industry services registry. The LYNX Services site slowed when the anticipated METRYX-related Web traffic was combined with the increasing claim volume generated by hurricanes Katrina and Rita. LYNX has responded with new band-width to improve the site’s speed and performance for retail glass companies registering on METRYX.

Despite the additional capacity, LYNX Services projects user traffic to continue to increase as October 19 approaches. LYNX advises retailers not to delay in completing their company profiles on the registry via the LYNX Services Web site – Retailers should consider visiting the Web site outside of peak demand periods – prior to 9:00AM EDT or after 5:00PM EDT for fastest updating and enrolling.

About the METRYX Industry Services Registry

The METRYX registry allows the auto glass company to enter information about their specific service area, unique capabilities, capacity, professional credentials and service offerings. The registry will enable insurers to consider other verifiable attributes, in addition to competitive price, when presenting a qualified glass service provider for policyholder referrals. Professional credentials, such as AGRSS™ registration, and qualifications of service technicians, such as replacement and/or repair training, windshield adhesive system training, and state licensing, if applicable, can be recorded in the profile. Glass repair/replacement service providers can create and update their company profiles and recertify or enroll in the three glass programs administered by LYNX Services on the registry via the LYNX Services Web site –

These Retailers Already Have Updated Their Profiles

One of the first participants to sign on to METRYX, during the pilot phase, was Ed Sprigler, Auto Glass Specialists, who found the process to be simple. “Once I had all of the necessary company, vehicle, and technician information in hand, the process to update my profile was straightforward and efficient,” said Sprigler. “We have already seen cases where adjusting our own service territories makes sense due to the information METRYX compiles.”

Jay Sampson, a partner at Ding Doctor, recognized the registry’s value from the time it was announced. “The most important benefit of METRYX is the ability to differentiate our shop's capabilities, professionalism, and commitment to quality and safety, through verifiable means, like our association with AGRSS and NGA certification and accreditation,” said Sampson. “It will help sort the chaff from the wheat!”

About User ID and Password

The User ID is the email address the retailer previously registered to gain access to the LYNX Services Web site. If unsure of password, use the “Forgot Password” feature found next to the log in button on Passwords are automatically generated and sent to the email address registered with LYNX Services. If retailer has not previously registered an email address, click where indicated to initiate the registration process.
