Rancho SantiagoCCD Names NewDirector of the OrangeCountySmallBusinessDevelopmentCenter

(Santa Ana)—Rancho Santiago Community College District (RSCCD) has appointed Leila Mozaffari as the new director of the Orange County Small Business Development Center (OCSBDC). She comes to the district from El Camino Community College District where she served as the director of the Southwest Los Angeles County SBDC. During her tenure, she was instrumental in expanding the center’s range of services to the business community and forging new community partnerships.

Previously, she served as vice president of strategic partnerships for California Manufacturing Technology Consulting (CMTC). In that capacity, she secured more than $5 million in annual economic and workforce development grants. From 1994 to 1998, she served as CMTC’s managing director of field operations and helped the organization establish a stronger regional presence and increase its revenue by 12 to 18 percent annually.

Mozaffarimanages the operations of the OCSBDC that assists more than3,000 small business owners and entrepreneurs annually start new businesses, grow and expand their businesses and enter new markets. Through consulting, training and referrals, the center assists small businesses to function more effectively, increase the chances of success, enhance profitability, increase employment opportunities, and contribute to the vitality of

Santiago Community College District is partially supported by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the CaliforniaStateUniversity, Fullerton and the California Community College Chancellor’s Office.

She holds a B.S. and an M.S. in industrial engineering and operations research from SyracuseUniversity in Syracuse, New York.
