Summer Reading Example
Book #1 Question Response:
In the book, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, there are many conflicts that arise. The major conflict that the main character, Katniss Everdeen, faces is taking the place of her sister who is chosen to play in the lethal Hunger Games. The games are a way for the government to show their control over the twelve districts. Katniss has to survive the deadly obstacles in the rounds of the games, as well as the other competitors trying to kill her in order to save their own lives. This conflict is both mentally and physically enduring for Katniss. She must overcome all of these challenges basically on her own, while the rest of the twelve districts watch her every move.
Book #1 Review
I would definitely recommend The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins to a friend. The book is action packed. The characters are interesting, and the overall plot is very intriguing. There is a little bit of romance for those who need it, but not enough to make you want to gag. The main character is one that you can relate to, and also leaves you wanting to be more like her. While reading this book, you will feel like you are in the games yourself. It will take you on an emotional roller coaster without even leaving your seat. Once you finish this book, you will be dying to begin the second book of this sensational series.
STUDENTS WILL COMPLETE TWO OF THESE FOR THE TWO BOOKS CHOSEN FROM THE 2015 INTERMEDIATE SEQUOYAH BOOK LIST.
