The overall purpose of PTA is “To make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.”

Milwaukee PTA Council?

·  To find out what’s happening. The PTA knows what’s happening with the school district and is active in planning many events.

·  To know that the voice is being heard on advocacy issues regarding public education to governmental bodies. (i.e. Reauthorization of ESSA)

·  To strengthen parent leadership in Milwaukee. The Milwaukee PTA Council supports our local PTA leadership and works with MPS and the community to find and mentor new parent leaders.

·  To support children and youth and be part of a working mechanism. PTA is the largest child advocacy association in the United States and has been around for over 100 years!
