The Outstanding Young Persons of the World for 2017JCI is pleased to announce the opening of nominations for the 2017 JCI TOYP program.

The TOYP program of Junior Chamber International (JCI) serves to recognize up to ten individuals between the ages of 18 and 40 who exemplify the best attributes of the world’s young people. Nominations are received in each of the ten categories listed below.

Honorees selected in past years have represented the heights of progress in all human endeavors. Many have gone on to even greater achievements. All have continued to serve humanity in a great variety of ways.

Young men and women may be nominated in one of ten categories for the TOYP honor. Honorees will be selected by an international panel of distinguished judges. Up to ten top honorees will be selected from all nominations received, regardless of category entered.

RULES GOVERNING NOMINATIONS:

1. Nominees must be between 18 and 40 years of age. Nominees born before January 1, 1977 or after December 31, 1998 are not eligible for the Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World Award. A certified copy of the ID/Birth Certificate should be uploaded along with the nomination form to prove the age of the nominee.

2. The nominee must be a native-born or naturalized citizen of the nation from which the nomination originates, or must have applied for citizenship by January 1, 2016.

3. Nominees need NOT to be members of the organization, provided they meet all other requirements and register through a JCI National Organization.

4. The nominee may not be a current member of the International Board. In addition, paid staff members will not be considered for the JCI TOYP program.

5. The nominator must attest to all facts contained in the form and granting permission for publication of these facts. With agreeing to these terms, the nominee also indicates willingness, barring extreme circumstances, to attend the JCI TOYP Awards Ceremony in the Netherlands, if selected as a 2017 Honoree.

6. All information must be contained on the official online form. Scrapbooks, audiotapes, etc. are not used in the judging process. If a candidate is selected as one of the honorees, however, these items will be requested by JCI World Headquarters.

7. A good quality, 4" x 6" (10 cm x 15 cm), head-and-shoulders photograph must be uploaded with the official nomination form.

8. The nominee must be entered in one of the ten categories listed on the online form. Please note: Each nominee may be nominated in only one category per form.

9. National Organizations can submit unlimited nomination forms.

10.A person who passed away between the national and the international competition cannot be nominated for the international TOYP award.

11.Nominees must be willing to promote the ideals of JCI for the year 2017/2018 after winning the award.

12.Nomination forms must be submitted online to JCI {local organization} by May 10th, 2017 and only in English.

13. Nomination forms must be submitted online to JCI West Indies by May 13, 2017 and only in English.

Every nomination must be submitted by the respective JCI National President.

Every nominee must be willing to be present at the JCI World Congress if selected as an honoree.

The nomination form must be sent by e-mail along with the ID/Birth certificate and the photo of the nominee.
