DUTIES: The employee in this position reviews and approves curriculum for driver education organizations Statewide and oversees the entire third-party testing program; trains third-party Basic Operators Skill Testers (BOST) and Alternative Motorcycle Skill Testers (ALMOST); supervises three Driver License Examiner II positions who are responsible for auditing all third-party tester operations and facilities; conducting inspections at third-party locations to review testing routes, testing records, and to audit the performance of third-party testers annually; resolves issues between customers and third-party testers; and performs other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS: Three years of work experience. Two years of the experience must have been as a Driver License Examiner testing for motor vehicle operator's licenses and determining general eligibility for Licensure (or see Substitutions below.) The remaining one year of experience must have been as a supervisor over at least three subordinates. Applicants must possess and maintain a valid State of Colorado driver's license and must be at least 21 years of age.

SUBSTITUTIONS: Two years of office / operations management experience in a customer service, regulatory, or licensing environment may be substituted for the required experience as a Driver License Examiner OR Two years of experience working in a driver license office determining general eligibility for licensure, issuing driver license related documents, and/or testing (visual, written or road) driver license applicants may be substituted for the two years of required experience as a Driver License Examiner on a year-for-year basis. There is no substitution for the supervisory experience, the required drivers license or the age requirement.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: The preferred candidate will possess two or more years of previous supervisory experience; operations management experience with responsibility for several employees in a high volume customer service environment; demonstrated customer service skills; excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills; and other knowledge, skills, and abilities as described in the duty statements.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS*: Must successfully pass a background check and a tax check (you must complete attached consent form and submit with application) and be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
