  • Chabad Jewish Student Group
  • Therefore it be, resolved by the Student Senate of James Madison University, that the Student Government Association allocate $2000.00 in contingency funds to bring a guest speaker to Mega Shabbat.
  • This resolution is passed by the executive council by a vote of 3-0-0.
  • Anime Club
  • Therefore it be, resolved by the Student Senate of James Madison University, that the Student Government Association allocate $1050 in contingency funds to assist with hotel, gas, and event parking for Anime Club’s Katsucon attendance.
  • This resolution is passed by the executive council by a vote of 3-0-0.
  • VA21
  • Therefore it be, resolved by the Student Senate of James Madison University, that the Student Government Association allocate $490 in contingency funds to assist with hotel and transportation to Richmond.
  • This resolution is passed by the executive council by a vote of 3-0-0.

  • Would like SGA help to collaborate with research on diversity topics and awareness.
  • JMU Bias: If you are on campus and hear an individual calling another individual a disgraceful name you can report it.

Director of Communication: Michael Comer

  • Election Stuff: Aaron and Michael have a meeting with Daniels to work on I voted buttons. Working on graphics for the debate and other events. Ideas to brand and market candidates.
  • Communication Team Structure: Jordan took on more responsibility for her internship so now communication team is down to 3 people.
  • 100 Years Stuff: Working on banners.
  • The Breeze: Reached out to let them know about our upcoming events.

Finance Director: Casey Donnelly

Legislative Action Chair: Josh Humphries

  • Please keep encouraging people to lobby. Currently we have 5 outside applications. University is sending a photographer with them to document the trip.
  • List of bills that we are supporting or likely supporting during the trip. Talk to Josh for more specifics.

Academic Affairs Chair: Robby Smith

Membership Chair: Meredith Parker

  • Retreat February 6th from 6:30-11:00 in Taylor 405. Sign up on the google doc.
  • Valentines Event: Wants people to be writing letters for Valentines day for all committee members.
  • Senator and Representative of the week.

Community Engagement Chair: Maddie Cairns

  • The Big Event: Student Greater Madison is dealing with sponsorship and money. SGA will be dealing with the people part of it. Partner with Madipalooza?
  • Relay for Life: Register, sign up and donate as soon as possible!

University Services Chair: Ryan Windels

  • No report

Speaker: Nick Maggio

  • A lot of talk about the membership drives process. If you are interested please contact Nick.

Treasurer: Aaron Brown

  • Event Planning/Funding: Cannot have your members and your committee members asking for funds at the last minute. If you need funding you need to let Aaron know as soon as possible. We need to better equip out members with how to be successful in our events.
  • Next Year’s Budget: Beginning to plan next years budget.
  • Dues: Couple of people who paid this semester that need to be paid.
  • Shirt Sales: Only the people who are in the class are selling shirts outside of the office.
  • 100 Years week and Open House: February 18th. Should we provide food?
  • Projector vs. TV: Debate about having a TV outside of the office with a slideshow of SGA events.

Vice President: Kaitlin Thomas

  • Gold Rush: February 4th, shirts are in, sign up if you would like to volunteer.
  • Honor Boards Meeting: Meet twice a year. A lot of issues with self-plagiarism.

President:Taylor Vollman

  • LT Retreat: Evaluate where we are, what we have done, and where we are going. Sunday from 12:00-3:00. Food will be provided.
  • 100 Years: Platform to reach out to students. Aaron Brown presents: Purple Out Take 2.
  • Commencement: Volunteers are needed! If interested please contact Taylor. Everything will be finalized after the rain plan is set.
