POSITION: Program Coordinator, Middle East Partnerships
REPORTS TO: Manager, Dignity, Rights and Development
CLASSIFICATION: Union position at Level 11 (½ time position)
Starting salary range $23,734-$26,138
OFFICE LOCATION: Toronto
KAIROS, the national social justice coalition of eleven national churches and church-related organizations, seeks a creative, energetic individual to relate directly to our partners in the Middle East, and to coordinate program development, accompaniment and grant administration (in accordance with the program agreed to by the Canadian International Development Agency). With a deep knowledge of the complex challenges facing the region, the Program Coordinator-Middle East Partnerships will engage in policy development, focused advocacy and public education on priorities identified by partners and the through the KAIROS program plan. Requirements
Commitment to the mission and values of KAIROS.
Excellent knowledge of Middle East and global justice issues, such as human rights.
University degree in International Studies, Political Science, Peace and Conflict Studies or a related field.
Five years experience in international development
Ability to understand and present work in a Christian theological context.
Demonstrated excellence in project management and proposal writing
Demonstrated analytical skills; ability to synthesize complex issues in generally accessible language.
Demonstrated excellence in written communications and public presentations.
Ability to act as a spokesperson for KAIROS on Middle East issues.
Proven ability to lobby government and international organizations.
Good skills in Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel spreadsheets).
Ability to travel overseas annually for 2-4 weeks. Some weekend work.
Works well in a collegial team, under supervision of a Manager
French is an asset.
