Job Description

Kinloch Golf Club is a private golf club located near Richmond, Virginia. The club focuses on providing members and guests with a world class golf experience along with a high level of service in a genuine and comfortable atmosphere. Since opening in 2001 the club has been consistently rated in the top 100 best golf experiences in the country. A true commitment to excellence and traditional southern hospitality is the trademark of the Kinloch Experience. The club is open throughout the year with the active season from April through October. The Richmond area is a very favorable climate with close proximity to the Virginia beaches and mountains.

Food & Beverage Director

Position Description:

The Kinloch Food & Beverage Director is responsible for all activities related to the service, management, administration, production and presentation associated with the food & beverage operations. The high level of service, presentation and quality of these activities will provide an atmosphere commensurate with the philosophy and ambiance of the Kinloch Experience.

·  Function and Accountability

a.  Responsible to Director of Operations

b.  Executes all essential functions pertaining to food & beverage operations

·  Duties

a.  Spread the enthusiastic goodwill, genuine hospitality and friendly greetings that epitomize the Kinloch Experience.

b.  Assist members and guests by providing and interpreting policies and Club Rules and Regulations

c.  Food & Beverage Services:

·  Responsible for marketing and promotion of Food & Beverage private member business, cottage dining and golf related F&B business consistent with club’s Mission Statement and business model.

·  Initiate and communicate with members in planning events and functions related to golf and core business philosophy.

·  Responsible for establishing and enthusiastically promoting the Kinloch Experience of service through personal and staff training activities. The successful candidate should be viewed by others as an assertive, but humble team member and leader.

·  Responsible for developing and continually enhancing the Kinloch Experience in all areas of Food and Beverage service – Clubroom, Clubhouse, Golf Course, Halfway House, Golf Training Center and Cottage.

·  Partner with Head Golf Professional and Member Services Director to create, forecast, market and stage periodic membership events.

·  Assist with communication and Food & Beverage opportunities for prospective member candidates.

·  Responsible for accuracy and efficiency of all membership F&B charge records and activities.

d.  Food & Beverage Management and Administration:

·  Responsible for administration and implementation of all F&B policies, procedures and regulations.

·  Plan, direct and manage the F&B operations pertaining to all special club events, cottage guest accommodations and private functions.

·  Responsible for control and management of food, beverage, equipment and supply inventories.

·  Responsible for budget control of F&B operation revenues, product costs, payroll & expenses.

·  Assist Chef with management of F&B costs, waste, spoilage and budget margins.

·  Maintain and negotiate vendor contracts/agreements for food, beverages, linens, supplies and equipment.

·  Responsible for wine list and management of wine service.

·  Motivate and inspire F&B team to provide a limited and outstanding quality menu in a genuine and comfortable personal service ambiance.

·  Responsible for providing detail information including revenues, labor hours and expenses to produce timely P&L statements for each private event.

e.  Food & Beverage Production and Presentation:

·  Establish, initiate and innovate to provide a level of presentation in all F&B areas of operations that communicates professionalism, hospitality and accommodation. All table, bar and display areas clean, neat and subliminally promoting sales.

·  Responsible for direction and assistance of Kitchen Manager/Chef with highest quality selection of food products and presentation.

·  Responsible for display and presentation of all F&B areas of operation – Clubroom, Clubhouse, Golf Course, Halfway House, Golf Training Center and Cottage.

·  Responsible for recruitment, training, scheduling and management of all F&B staff members.

·  Coordinate, motivate and inspire the F&B Kitchen and Service team to work together toward common goal of excellence in member services – The Kinloch Experience.

f.  Communications:

·  Responsible for personal greetings and offers to assist members and their guests – upon arrival, while dining or relaxing, and upon departure. Friendly, courteous and accommodating conversation enhances the opportunity to provide comfortable and positive experiences.

·  Engage in conversations with members providing an opportunity to promote and market F&B operations along with other member services including cottage and golf operations.

·  Assist Director of Operations with Monthly newsletter highlighting Food & Beverage activities, cottage promotion/opportunities and opportunities for service.

·  Responsible for regular internal staff communication to inform teammates of F&B menus, services and coordinate activities.
