Graduation Day

Sunday, June 5, 2011

1:00 p.m. at the Lodi Stadium

·  On the last day of school, June 3rd, practice will start at 2:15 PM in the auditorium. No senior should arrive to school before 2 PM on Friday. Checkouts should be completed (and all fines paid) on Thursday, June 2nd. (Seniors’ last full day is Thursday, June 2nd)

·  4 Tickets are included with this notice for family members of the graduates to sit in the reserved area. Please call with questions. (592-3853, ext. 4400) Note: There is plenty of additional seating outside of the reserved area.

·  Seniors should arrive by 12:00 noon on Sunday and go to the band room for preparations, walking order (sign up in the CRC by May 20), final instructions & starting the graduation walk.

·  Clothing under the graduation gown should be appropriate, especially in length. It must be visible below the gown, i.e. pants, long skirts/dresses. Cool clothing should be worn if the day is warm or if the weather is poor, resulting in a move to the high school gym. Because of the walk across grass and the bridge, nice but comfortable shoes are strongly encouraged.

·  Nothing may be affixed to the gown before or during the ceremony, not even flowers or pins.

·  Only the honor cords (NHS, Distinction, and Honor) and the valedictorian and salutatorian medallions may be worn over the gown.

·  After the ceremony, graduates should return to the CRC, where diploma envelopes and records will be distributed. If envelopes are not picked up after the ceremony, they can be retrieved during regular office hours the following week.

Note: This is a formal ceremony for the graduates, the parents and the community. Please help ensure it is enjoyable for all with your actions before and during the ceremony. To maintain the dignity of this event, any student who fails to follow graduation ceremony procedures, or is found to be under the influence of alcohol or other drugs, will not be able to participate in the ceremony.

Congratulations to all graduates (and parents) and best wishes for many years to come!
