Best Practices in First Nations Education Conference

Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN) is seeking a range of presentations suitable for educators and education administrators working in either the First Nations or the provincial education system. Presentation proposals relevant to early childhood education, elementary and secondary schools, post-secondary education and research on First Nations Education are welcome.

Presentations should demonstrate best practices in First Nation education. These practices may be found in the following focus areas: First Nations language and culture, First Nation curriculum, education governance, policy development, literacy, numeracy, parental participation, community engagement, student support, mental health and wellness, and transitions to secondary or post-secondary school.

NAN invites interested practitioners, policy makers, school administrators, and teachers to submit a presentation proposal for the Best Practices in Aboriginal Education Conference.

Date of Conference: March 30-31 2016

Location: Victoria Inn, Thunder Bay, ON
