- (1) El Dia de los Muertos Shoebox Altar (25 points): Find an empty shoebox, or a box of a similar size, and créate an altar for a deceased member of your family.
- If you are not comfortable making an alter for a family member, you can make one for yourself instead.
- Decorate your alter with five (5) different kinds of ‘ofrendas’ (offerings) such as pictures, letters, flowers, food, drink, candles, and personal memoralbilia.
- For each of your five offerings, write a 3 sentence description, in English or Spanish, explaining why you chose that item for your chosen person and how/why it was important to them.

- Warm-up Activity – Short Answer: Warm-ups should be written on same sheet of paper throughout the week, will be collected at the end of the week:
