A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND M. GAULT “BUNNY” BEESON, JR., FOR HIS OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS TO PRESERVING WILDLIFE HABITAT AND NATURAL RESOURCES THROUGH WILDLIFE ACTION, INC., AS IT CELEBRATES ITS TWENTYFIFTH ANNIVERSARY.
Whereas, M. Gault “Bunny” Beeson started Wildlife Action, Inc., in 1977 to raise public awareness of the many threats to our diminishing wildlife habitat and natural resources; and
Whereas, Wildlife Action is a familyoriented, nonprofit volunteer organization that operates by the slogan “To Put Back More Than We Take” and educates youth through programs that teach preservation, conservation, education, sportsmanship, and fellowship; and
Whereas, the youth education emphasizes outdoor activities and protecting the environment for the enjoyment of future generations through programs such as “Take a Kid Fishing Day” and through camping, boating, and hunter safety classes, summer camps, and bluebird and duck box building days; and
Whereas, these programs are funded solely by member dues, charitable donations, and fundraising events; and
Whereas, Bunny Beeson, along with other Wildlife Action members, works to set an example and instill in citizens of the world knowledge and dedication to the protection of the earth for future generations to enjoy and use, not abuse; and
Whereas, for his abundant contributions to environmental education through Wildlife Action, Bunny Beeson has received many honors and awards such as South Carolina Governor’s “Take Pride in America” award, South Carolina Wildlife Federation “Communication and Conservation” award, Woodmen of the World Conservation Award, and Southern Living Magazine’s Southerner of the Year; and
Whereas, the General Assembly is pleased to recognize such a conscientious and dedicated environmentalist as Bunny Beeson, President of Wildlife Action, Inc. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and commend M. Gault “Bunny” Beeson, Jr., for his outstanding contributions to preserving wildlife habitat and natural resources through Wildlife Action, Inc., as it celebrates its twentyfifth anniversary.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Bunny Beeson, President of Wildlife Action, Inc.
