2010 Rattler Spring Break Classic Rules
**PLEASE READ EVERYTHING**

1. Pool Games will be 4 innings or 55 minutes, finish the inning.

2. Bracket seeding games will be 75 minutes, finish the inning, and seed teams in one of the following brackets:

Gold, Silver, Bronze, & Copper

3. Bracket seeding games will be matched based on each team’s place of finish in pool play. Pool standings will be determined based on the following criteria if more than one team finishes with the same record:

·  Head to Head. If two are tied after Pool play, the team that beat the other will receive the highest ranking of the two teams.

·  If three teams are tied after Pool play, the run differential between the tied teams and their games will be used

·  If three teams are still tied, we will use the following criteria:

·  Run differential for all games.

·  Fewest runs allowed between the tied teams’ games.

·  Fewest runners allowed to 3rd base

·  Fewest runners allowed to 2nd base

·  Fewest total baserunners allowed

·  Coin flip.

WE ARE NOT TAKING THE MOST RUNS SCORED BETWEEN THE TIED TEAMS BECAUSE THE HOME TEAM WILL NOT ALWAYS GET TO BAT AS MANY TIMES WHEN THEY WIN.

Please remember, this is a tournament to get games for our kids. There is no absolutely perfect way to break ties within pool games, and sometimes issues will come up.

EXAMPLE: Last year, we had a team win a game in the bottom of the 4th inning 1-0. As soon as the run scored, the game was over; however, the team that won was upset because they were not 1st place after the run differential tie-breaker. They thought they should have been allowed to continue batting in the bottom of the 4th inning, even though they had won because they could have scored more runs (completely understandable- Later on the coaches were apologetic for being upset.) While this is true, I do not believe it is sportsmanlike to continue playing a game that is already won, so the game will end when it is supposed to end. Tell your kids to “take care of business” early J

Please understand that even though issues will come up, our kids are getting to play games. Please explain this to your parents as well. Thank you!!!!!!

4. If two teams are tied at the end of the time limit, the following criteria will be used to determine the winner:

·  Runners to 3rd base

·  Runners to 2nd base

·  Runners to 1st base

·  Fewest strike outs by hitter

·  Most walks by hitters

·  Coin flip

5. Bracket games will be 75 minutes, finish the inning.

6. If two teams are tied after time expires and the inning has been finished, progressive ITB will be used.

1. First inning of the tie-breaker: the last batter who completed her at bat in the previous inning will begin the inning on second base.

2. Second inning of tie-breaker and all subsequent tie-breaker innings: the last batter who completed her at bat in the previous inning will begin the inning on third, and the second-to-last batter to compete her at bat in the previous inning will begin the inning on second.

7. Each team must furnish one game ball per game. We will be using the .47 core & .375 compression optic yellow ball; red stitched.

8. Water coolers will be furnished, but each team is responsible for providing its own water bottles or cups.

9. Trainers will be available on site, but each team must provide its own athletic tape, pre-wrap, or other taping supplies.

10. There will be a 10-run rule in effect after 3 innings for all games.

11. All teams must warm-up in designated warm-up areas between fields and outside the outfield fences. There will not be any on-field warm-up time for pool games, so each team must be ready to play immediately. For bracket games and bracket seeding games, a brief field warm-up time will be allowed if there is sufficient time before the start of the game. All games will start on time.

12. Any team personnel, player, or fan who displays unsportsmanlike conduct or manners will subject themselves and/or their team to suspension for the game and/or tournament.

13. All tournament fans must comply with the form of tournament entry. Refusal to wear wristbands, hand stamps, or any other form of payment and entry documentation will result in denied entrance to the tournament. Please communicate this to your fans. Thanks!

14. There will be absolutely no outside food or drink allowed in the complex, as per CITY & District RULES. This includes team coolers, etc. Thank you for your cooperation.
