PROJECT SHEET8 –

WATER

This is the project sheet for two weeks!

1.Read the Waterand Population chapters in the manual. (15 minutes)

What is one thing that you learned that surprised you?

2.Do it in the Dark Bulb Swaps Continue!

Go around in your dorm, knock on peoples doors and ask students if they would like to swap their regular bulb for a Compact Fluorescent bulb. Make sure they give you their regular bulb. Bring all the regular bulbs to the next meeting.

You have another two weeks to do that. The person who swaps the most bulbs will win a fabulous candy prize. We are waiting to get more bulbs. I’ll let you know as soon as they are in.

There are different bulbs available! 100 W (very bright) equivalents and 60 W equivalents (less bright)

Let people choose.

The bulbs reach their fullest brightness after 1-2 minutes. They should not flicker once they have been on for several seconds.

Make sure to get the hand-outs too!

How did it go?

3.Chalk for Do-It-In-The-Dark if you have not already done so.

Spend 40 minutes or more chalking for DIITD. Chalk when it is not raining ;-)

Suggestions:

‘do-it-in-the-dark: save energy, win a party’ ‘do-it-in-the-dark: sign the energy pledge’

‘do-it-in-the-dark: shut the lights, have fun’ ‘do-it-in-the-dark: more fun, less computer’

When did you chalk? Were did you chalk?

4.Browse the TCI webpage for an hour:

I am in the process of redesigning the page. (I.e. I’m adding a menu to each page)

Any suggestions and comments? What did you like? What would you change? What would you add?

5.Make table tents for a campus dining hall (2 hour)

Recap from last week.

Dining Hall / Week 42 / Week 43 / Week 44

6.Continue planning your event.

Pick a date for your event. Plan it well. Update me. Let me know, when your event is. Make sure to take pictures! And let me know how it went. If you buy stuff, I need the receipts in order to reimburse you!

7.Continue writing your viewpoint

Have you submitted your viewpoint? Was it published?

8.Watch Movies

Watch at least 3 movies (preferably form different categories). See list below.

If you pick movies from the TIE office, please return them so other people can watch them! Make sure to use the sign-up sheet.

Which movies did you watch? For each one of them, write three interesting things you learned:
