Salvatore Tirabassi is a Partner at M/C Venture Partners ( Mr. Tirabassi focuses on media and communications industry segments, including digital media, broadband services, wireless services and technology-related services. From 2000 to his arrival at M/C in 2007, he was a Partner at New York-based Dolphin Equity Partners, where he led investments in and served on the board of eight portfolio companies including Airband, Gomez (acquired by Compuware in 2009), MaxPreps (acquired by CBS in 2007) and VitalStream (acquired by Internap in 2006). Prior to Dolphin, Mr. Tirabassi worked in product development and marketing at Diamond Lane Communications (acquired by Nokia in 1998). Previous to Diamond Lane Communications, he was an early employee and spent four years at FutureBrand, a strategic marketing consulting firm (acquired by Interpublic Group in 1997).
Mr. Tirabassi currently serves on the Board of Directors of Airband and CSDVRS and is an observer on the Boards of Directors at Public Mobile, Seven Networks and SpeechCycle.
Mr. Tirabassi received an AB cum laude in philosophy and foreign languages from HarvardUniversity and an MBA from the WhartonSchool of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was named a Palmer Scholar. He also received an MSE in Telecommunications and Networking Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
