Skills
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team (individual team and wider team across localities) and to contribute to its development, complementing the ethos and aims of the individual Children’s Centre and the overall Children’s Centre vision.
- Ability to effectively communicate with both written and verbal skills
- Ability to make assessment of needs , support and case hold at Level 2
- Good organisational skills, an ability to prioritise work and manage your own working time efficiently
- Good working skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office software to be able to collate and analyse data, produce reports, develop publication materials etc
- Maintain accurate, factual records in order to compose and deliver succinct, informative reports to a range of professionals through core groups, conferences etc

Knowledge
- An understanding of the needs of vulnerable children, their carers and the communities in which they live
- A good understanding of child development
- Current Safeguarding and Child Protection procedures and working knowledge

Experience
- Experience of working with young children especially 0-5 years and parents
- Experience of working with families in their own homes and in the community
- Experience of attending Child protection meetings and offering support at level 2,3 and 4
- Experience of assessment, planning and reviews to meet the needs of families and children
- Experience of working with other professionals and agencies with good outcomes
- Experience of mentoring and supporting volunteers
- Experience of leading planning and delivering groups to children and families
- Experience of evaluating outcomes, making recommendations for further service delivery
- Recent experience of at least 6 months of working within a Children’s Centre

Qualifications
- Relevant, recognised Level 3 qualification for example Child Care or Child Social Care
- GCSE grade C (or above) in Mathematics and English
