Exploring the counties of Kentucky

Situation: As a marketing agent at Worldwide Marketing, you have been selected to work on a huge Presentation for the state of Kentucky. The governor of Kentucky has hired your employer (WorldWide Marketing) to build a Presentation that will showcase all of the counties in Kentucky. The presentation will be played over a big screen TV at the state of Kentucky booth during the Global Tourist show in Austin, Texas.

Directions:

1)Select a project manager for the project. The project manager will be responsible for assisting others within the development of the county-by-county slides and also bringing all of the slides together into one final PowerPoint that will showcase all 120 Kentucky counties. (The project manger will either make or break the overall project so select your manager very carefully)

2)Following your project managers lead each marketing agent will be assigned a group of counties to research, explore and then develop the slide over their assigned county that will meet the listed requirements. The number of assigned counties will depend on the total number of marketing agents in the class and the total will be divided equally. Project Manager (120/# of marketing agents)

3)Now that each marketing agent knows what counties he or she will be assigned it is time to begin gathering the data on the selected counties and recording the information within the PowerPoint or a MS Word document. For each county that a marketing agent is assigned the following pieces of information or data is needed: other websites can be used

  1. Name of the county
  2. Kentucky Map showing the highlighted county
  3. Population of the county
  4. County Seat
  5. Size of the county (in square miles)
  6. Tourist Destination (Why would someone want to visit this county? What makes this county unique or different from other locations in KY or the world) Include a picture or pictures along with this section
  7. 2 other pictures that relate to the specific county.

4)The project manager will give his or her advice on where the above information should be placed on the slide so that consist slide development occurs throughout the classroom and throughout the project. For example the project manager may select to have each counties name in a particular word art color or pattern and that each slide should have a particular background color.

5)After finishing all slides the marketing agent should have the Project manger review his or her slides to insure all information is present and once approved the Project manager will instruct the marketing agent where to save the PowerPoint for future use (More than likely in Smith’s Projects or into a flash drive)

6)The project manager should take each of the individual slideshows and combine them into one slideshow that presents all 120 of Kentucky’s counties in alchemical order. The project manager should also develop a tile slide that introduces the topic and beings the PowerPoint process. The Project manager also needs to select music that will be used in the backgrounds of the slides and apply an appropriate transition time to the slides so that they progress without someone having to click from slide-to-slide. The project manager also needs to develop a created by slide that will include the names of all people who worked on the project and the counties that they were responsible for. The project manager also needs to include his or her name on the final slide. The project manager will then present the finished PowerPoint to the instructor for an overall class grade.
