I Joseph Bradford of Mercer County and State of West Virginia, being in my right mind on this the 28th day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty eight do make this my last will and testament

To my oldest & well beloved daughter Mary Ann Young and her lawful heirs, I will and bequest one equal forth part in value my land in Mercer County, West Virginia, to include the cleared lands, houses and appurtenances and which se now resides.

And to my second daughter Sarah Jane Simmons & her lawful heirs, I do will & bequeath one forth part in value of my lands in Mercer County, West Virginia, to include the cleared lands, house and appurtenances in Cedar Branch.

3rd and to my third oldest daughter & well beloved, Emeline Rebecca Tingler and her lawful heirs. I do will and bequeath one equal forth part in value of my lands in Mercer County, West Virginia, to included the cleared lands, houses and appurtenances on Rich I now reside.

4th and to my only and beloved son John A. Bradford, I do will and bequeath one equal forth part in value of my land in Mercer County, West Virginia, to included the cleared land, houses and appurtenances on which he now resides, being the land got in exchange from A.L Barker.

5th and to my beloved wife Jane Bradford, I do will and bequeath all my personal property without reservations and further more do give her a lifetime a State in all the above named land and property, provided furthermore that she is to reside to full and ample support therefrom.

6th and I furthermore devise that my dear children, Mary Ann Young and her heirs and Sarah Jane Simmons and her heirs, Emeline Rebecca Tingler and her heirs and John A. Bradford are to bear and pay their equal parts in the remaining part of the purchase money remaining in part to Meredith Wills.

7th and do furthermore will that I am in love & charity with all men and have a bright hope in anticipation of the happiness which I soon, according to the course of nature, shall enjoy through the Hollowed Blood of my beloved Savior Jesus Christ, my only hope of salvation.

This is my last will and testament signed and delivered this day of year first above written.

The last will and testament of Joseph Bradford was proven by the testimony of George W Crook, one of the subscribing witness on the 8th day of December 868 and by the testimony and by Neville C Beckley, the other subscribing witness thereto on the 5th day of May 1869 and was admitted to probate and ordered to be recorded.
