Comedy Theatre Sports - Thinking On Your Feet with John Shorter
This is an active workshop, which will teach you a variety of skills to think on your feet.This workshop will teach participants the basic concepts of comic improvisation. They will learn to think on their feet and develop ideas spontaneously. Theatre games will be used to teach acting skills people have seen employed by professionals on shows like “Whose life is It Anyway.” This workshop will help participants release the performers, which are hidden inside of them. No experience necessary.
DIY: Culture and creativity in modern times with Alysha Grevious
A brief talk on the history and development of DIY culture and how it has effected art and culture i.e. Punk rock, indie film etc. We will also look into the anti consumerism movement and what DIY aesthetics indicate in modern times. The workshop will also include creative exercises based in what we can create right here right now using recycled items, cell phones and laptops.

Discover movie making with the High Definition Single Lens Reflex Camera (HDSLR) and learn how this new digital video technology can bring your ideas to life. In this creative "crash course" we will cover everything from basic camera anatomy to post production procedure with emphasis on how to capture high quality moving images. Students will use their new knowledge of the HDSLR to develop and produce several "micro movies" that utilize the camera's capabilities and put their imaginations to the test.

Take Hip Hop with choreographer Jennifer Archibald. Immerse your body and soul in a dance style that combines the dance technique of hip-hop and club steps. Contemporary hip hop, locking, poppin, and breakin. Classes start off with a basic warm-up. Jennifer breaks the class down with a hip-hop combination. The Hip Hop workshop is geared toward students who are beginner/advanced. Wear comfortable clothing (no jeans) and jazz sneakers, or sneakers that you don't wear outdoors.

Life Drawing with Charcoal and Paper with Anne Delaney This workshop will be dedicated to live figure drawing using charcoal on newsprint paper. Students will start with quick poses, and end with longer poses. This workshop takes place at the artist’s studio.
Life of the Party: Producing Dance Music with TreZure Empire (EI Alumni)
Using Kaosillator pro, the class will build one track. Working as a team of producers we will make dance tracks, with each member contributing to the track. We will compose lyrics hooks and a bridge as well. Each group will either choose a vocalist or sing together on their dance track.

On the verge of extinction in 2008, Polaroids have been saved from dying out only by the passion of its devoted followers. Learn about Polaroids and how "The Impossible Project" saved this hipster-loved retro analog technology. Breathe your own creativity into the Polaroid process and get a chance to snap some photos and experiment with these insta-memories.
Painting Animals from Photographic Reference with Shauna Finn
In this workshop, participants will create a lifelike painting of an animal of their choice, using a photographic source as reference. Images will be provided, or students can bring photos of their favorite feathered, furry or four-legged friend from home. Suggestions on how to pick good photo reference will be briefly discussed. Students will begin by drawing their creature directly onto the canvas with charcoal, focusing on major shapes. They will then paint over it in stages; blocking in general light and dark masses and building up color and texture.

Tap Dancing & Hoofin' with Derick Grant
Derick Grant, tap dancer and choreographer, came to prominence in 1996, as an original company member and Dance Captain musical Bring In 'Da Noise, Bring In 'Da Funk at both The Joseph Papp Public Theater/New York Shakespeare Festival and on Broadway. Derick recreated Savion Glover's choreography and starred in the role of 'da beat for the first National Tour. By the time he was eight years old, he has learned the "hoofin" style of tap from the master tap dancer Diane Walker. This is a rare opportunity to have Derick teach you this unique and infectious style!
Understanding of Value: Charcoal Exercise with John Carlson
In this intensive 3-hour workshop, students will work capture a full range of value from a basic still life. The process begins by applying a mid tone layer of charcoal to the entire paper, the light values will be erased away. The classical principals of form will be discuss and students will apply what they've learned to drawings using vine, compressed and white charcoal.
