Kewaunee County Fairest of the Fair Expectations 2016

As Kewaunee County Fairest of the Fair you serve as fair ambassador for an entire calendar year. You are expected to fulfill certain responsibilities in this year. The following list is a requirement for being in the position :( A scholarship of $ 750.00 will award to the winner of the 2016 Kewaunee county Fairest of the Fair at the conclusion of their reign if obligations listed below are met with satisfaction by the Kewaunee County Fairest of the Fair Committee and the Kewaunee County Fair Board.)

- Be Present and Visible the week of the Fair

-Greet Visitors at the gate, at animal shows, in the grandstands, throughout the barns and grounds. A complete list of activities you will need to attend will vary on activities for the fair. You can plan on being at the fairgrounds most days from 8am until 10pm (varying upon day)

-Have 5 speaking/presentations events.

-This could include visiting schools, 4-H clubs, nursing homes, FFA, other community organizations, etc….

-Attend 5 Community events

-This should include events such as the Dairy Dash, Kewaunee County Breakfast on the Farm, Trout Fest, ShantyDays, and other items such as ringing the bell for the Salvation Army around Christmas time

-Attend 2 Fair board meetings

-Report what you have been up to and also finding out what arrangements are made for the fair.

- Attend the State Fairest of the Fair Contest in early January,

2017 at Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells, as Fairest you must represent Kewaunee County or you will have to step down from the position. Attending the 2016 Convention is strongly encouraged (January 10-14, 2016) to prepare for the 2017 Competition

We ask that you:

-Be enthusiastic and proud of your job

-Follow the time schedule and the instructions of the coordinators

-Know basic information so you can answer any questions put to you

-Go to events well rested and prepared to meet your public

-Address individuals by name whenever possible

-Wear your crown and banner for all official approved appearances

-Wear suitable clothing, fitting to the occasion and simple in design

-Remove crown and banner during free time or after hours

-Give your undivided attention while speaking with anyone

-Keep an accurate and complete list of all the appearances you make as Fairest of the Fair. You will need to comprise a scrapbook for the state competition in January.

-Facebook profile activity must be accessed by fairest of the Fair Committee (we ask that no pictures or posting dealing with the Fairest program be put on your personal social media accounts.)

What not to do:

-Smoke or chew gum while making an official appearance

-Drink alcoholic beverages before or while making an appearance

-Spend too much time visiting with friends of family during appearances.

-Phone use (cell phone) must be kept to a minimum.

Every effort will be made to absorb the cost of attending county functions and the state fair convention. However, the Fairest of the Fair will be responsible for some of the costs.

All appearances should be cleared through the Kewaunee County Fairest of the Fair Coordinators.

This is a list of requirements for the position. Reigning fairest are encouraged to go above and beyond what is listed above and to do things they feel comfortable with while promoting and being an advocate for the Kewaunee County Fair.

I have read the above expectations for Kewaunee County Fairest of the Fair and agree to comply with them if chosen for the position. If I do not follow the expectation I am aware that my title can be taken away and the runner up will take my place.
