Guidance notes

Finances

The University will contribute up to £1,500 per student to attend the Undergraduate Summer School or Social Entrepreneur Corps programme. Any student selected will be expected to cover any remaining costs or expenses themselves. Please note that for the Social Entrepreneur Corps event in particular, additional costs are likely to be quite high.

Eligibility

Please ensure you meet any eligibility requirements as outlined in the information provided by Universitas 21.

Criteria for selection

Applicants for places will be considered by a panel in the University Secretary’s Office, using the following criteria:

-  Alignment of the personal statement and CV with the theme of the event;

-  Added value for the student in attending the event;

-  Academic record.

Report

Please note that a condition of attending and receiving University funding towards the cost of the event, is the submission of a report within 1 month of returning to Edinburgh (1,000 words). This should outline the experiences of the event and will be shared with the relevant School and College.
