Obtain Atis, set altimeter

Review Approach Plate

Select Approach

Review, compare WP’s from plate to Unit

Review missed approach procedure

Set up radios

Verify GPS mode (vs NAV)

Check RAIM (OTH 3)

At 30 miles, verify ARM

5-10 Miles Before Established on Approach

Flow Control (Pre-landing checklist)

Slow aircraft

Check/set HI

Review WP’s, MDA

Vectors to final, holds, course reversals

Select OBS mode

Set CDI on final approach course inbound

Select FAF as active waypoint (Direct to)

Set auto pilot to HDG, set hdg bug

Once established on final approach course, select LEG mode

Set autopilot to NAV

Intercept course to WP, hold (with reversal),

then approach

Determine heading, fly intercept (or direct to)

Set autopilot to HDG

Select OBS mode

Load approach, select WP (or direct to)

Set CDI to outbound course

Fly heading to, or intercept angle to course

At WP, set CDI to 30° angle (teardrop) off of outbound course

Before reversal, set CDI to inbound Final approach course

Once established on final approach course, select LEG mode

3-5 NM from FAF

Verify GPS mode (vs NAV)

Verify LEG mode

Verify FAF is the active WP

At FAF

Review applicable “T’s”:

Time, turn, track, throttle, tune, talk

Keep scan going

Verbalize altitudes, distances

Missed Approach

Power up, pitch up

Gear up, flaps up , open up (cowl)

talk up (“tower, m. ap”)

Fly to MAP

Follow chart procedure
