Ace It! tutoring is an education model, developed by Sylvan Learning Centers, which has provided tutoring to more than two million students over the last 25 years. Instruction is focused on the essential skills that make the most impact on students' achievement in reading and math. Ace It! offers small group instruction to meet individual student's needs, beginning with an assessment to identify each student's needs.
State data for 2007-2008 indicated no significant achievement difference between Ace It! students and control groups for reading and math. Data for 2006-2007 indicated no significant difference for reading but a small negative effect for math.

Hamilton and Harris offers tutoring in reading and mathematics, grades K-12. Sessions are typically 1.5 hours twice a week. Hamilton and Harris offers individualized and small group tutoring at home or at school. Their tutors use student data results to develop lesson plans according to individual needs. Previous achievement results (provided by the company) evidenced a 22% gain in reading and a 28% gain in math across grade levels. SES services are deliverd via distance learning utiliziing provider-supplied portable handheld devices and the Plato Achieve Now curriculum. In 2005, K-3 students in Aiken County (SC) School District who used Achieve Now over 10 weeks achieved average increases of 36% in phonemic awareness, 17% in vocabulary, and 41% in comprehension on the early reading program assessments. L & U Contractors utilizes a variety of research-based learning strategies aligned with the NC Standard Course of Study and PLATO Achieve Now Interactive software programs. Classrooms are organized into four instructional stations. The learning stations are: one-on-one with the teacher, independent practice, small group (2-5), and technology.
Previous results (supplied by the company) indicate that between 2005 and 2007, 81% of the students served increased their reading scale scores and 71% increased their math scale scores. Additionally, 77% of the students that were tutored in reading passed their EOG tests.
