Minutes of Meeting, 4 August 2010
Held at Forney Transportation Museum, 4303 Brighton Blvd., Denver Colorado.
The meeting was called to order by the second vice president, Dick Thompson at 7:37 pm. and handed over to president Joe Baker.
Officers present were Joe Baker, president; Dick Thompson, 2nd vice president; Tom Kay, treasurer; and Dick Fritz, acting secretary. 38 member clubs and two guest clubs were represented.
Legislative matters: Harold Naber and Leo Boyle introduced Marcia Looper, who represents District 19 in the Colorado Legislature. Rep. Looper has worked with the OCCC on legislation affecting the collector car hobby and currently is considering legislation that could consolidate the complex issues of vintage car titling and licenses with the goal of making procedures understandable to car owners, county clerks, and law enforcement officials. Rep. Looper also spoke about three issues (constitutional amendments 60 and 61 and statutory change proposition 101) which will be presented to voters statewide in November. She emphasized that all voters should carefully analyze the information pro and con in the Colorado information “Blue Book” before the election and consider the consequences of these initiatives. Rep. Looper will forward a draft of the Blue Book when it is available to Leo Boyle.
Dick Thompson introduced Brian Molitoris who is the official photographer for the Colfax Cruise. Brian described the studio-type photos that he can generate from candid photos at events.

Major transactions within the month were payment to Adams County for swap meet rent and a donation to the Cruise account from ANPAC – Chrome Insurance.
OCCC Swap Meet (August 21): Roger Zaner reported that the swap meet could still use more club volunteer workers. Please support the swap meet because it provides funds for the legislative monitoring. This includes distributing flyers at car shows and cruises.
Colfax Cruise (September 18): Dick Thompson reported that the next planning meeting will be at 7 pm on August 18th at McCoy’s restaurant, 4855 Federal Blvd, (Federal and I-70). Dick outlined sites and what volunteers are needed at each. He also described radio and TV promotions he is working on.
Colorado Collector Car News: Featured this month are the Colorado Springs Rod and Custom Club and their Thin Air Nationals event, Steve Disch’s 1964 Pontiac GTO, and Dominic Olson as club member of the month. A brief history of the OCCC also is presented.
Early Mustang Club Raffle: EMC is again raffling a restored Mustang, this year a 1966 convertible. Tickets are $10 and all proceeds benefit the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund. For more information contact .
Alex Keller: Alex, an individual member of OCCC and an active vintage racer with a Porsche 912 died in July from lung cancer, although he was a non-smoker. We lost a good friend.
Election of officers for 2011: Joe Baker reminded everyone that nominations for OCCC officers will open at the October meeting. He and Keith Hall will be stepping down, and we need new people to volunteer.
The next OCCC meeting will be Wednesday, September 1, at the Falcon Police Station, 7850 Goddard Place in Colorado Springs starting at 7:30 pm. This is just south of I-25 exit 150 (Academy Blvd.).
