EMPLOYEE SUPERVISION: N/A

DETAILS OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Cleaning, washing walls, sweeping, vacuum cleaning, emptying of litter bins,
polishing and dusting (which may include toilets and shower areas).

2.Using powered equipment such as vacuum cleaners, scrubber dryers and buffers
etc.

3. Use of cleaning products such as neutral detergents, acid toilet descalers, high alkali hard surface cleaners and acrylic polishes.4. Lifting of equipment and buckets of water, etc.5. Use of specialist equipment Eg Steps to gain height for short duration work.

And any other duties commensurate with the grade and falling within the scope of the post, as requested by Management.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Abilities / The physical ability to use Industrial Cleaning Equipment i.e. Buffing Machines, Floor Scrubbers and Vacuum Cleaners.
The ability to perform tasks involving lifting and climbing (i.e. the use of step ladders and buckets).
To be able to carry out accurately, verbal instructions
Good customer care skills




Experience / Experience of industrial or commercial cleaning methods / 
Qualifications
/Trainings / BICS 5 point Task in Building Cleaning.
NVQ L2 in Domestic Science

POSITION:Cleaner – Hoyland Leisure Centre

Information to Candidates on Employment Terms and Conditions

The following details outlining some of the main Terms and Conditions of Employment are for information only. They do not constitute a contractual agreement. A full Contract of Employment will be issued to the successful applicant on appointment.

1.Working Hours

The normal hours of work will be 10.5 hours per week (05.30am start as part of a weekly rota).

Hours may also include daytime, evenings, weekends and bank holidays to be worked to suit the needs of the service.

2.HolidaysThere are 20 days annual leave from 1 April to 31 March each year plus 8 Bank Holidays (pro rata for part-time staff). Staff appointed part way through a holiday year will receive a proportionate entitlement.

3.Salary

The rate of pay will be up to £7.20 per hour depending on age.

  1. Probationary Period

All new appointments are subject to a probationary period of 6 months during which time suitability for the position appointed will be assessed.

5.Pension

There is eligibility to join the BPL Friends Life Pension Scheme.

6.Notice Period

The notice period that will operate on both sides to terminate the Contract will be one month or, on the employer side, one week for every year of service (to a maximum of 12 weeks) if this is greater.

7.Appointment

Appointments made are subject to receipt of satisfactory health clearance, and two references.
