¨Encourage students to become educated and active citizens in their local community and the world
¨Study world history in order to understand others and the world around us
¨Prepare students for the first section of the two-year course, which ends with the New York State Global Regents Exam

Tests/Projects: All tests and projects will be announced. The number of tests and projects may vary each marking period.
Quizzes: There may or may not be any advanced notice given. Each unit will have a vocabulary quiz.
Homework: Homework will be randomly collected and checked
¨Homework is due the day after it is assigned
¨NO LATE HOMEWORK
Participation/Preparedness: Participation and preparedness means putting effort forth and coming to class prepared to learn. This means coming to class on time. Supply checks, class discussions and group work will contribute to this portion of your grade.
Absences
¨If you are absent it is your responsibility to make up missed work
¨See your student planner for specific attendance details
¨Tests and Quizzes need to be made up within 5 days of returning to school
¨If you are absent the day an assignment is due you must present it to me the day you return
Extra Help
I will be available after school until 2:45 Monday -Friday. Extra help is always available, the student just needs to ask and we can establish a time to meet.

Being a student is a full-time job. You get paid at the end of your senior year in the form of a diploma, which opens up a world of opportunity. I look forward to helping you meet that ultimate accomplishment as well as having some fun along the way.
