IFMA ST.LOUIS AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS TO MEMBERS

St. Louis, MO – November 3, 2014 – The St. Louis chapter of IFMA (International Facility Managers Association) awarded scholarships to help two members further their professional careers. Daryl Ives, an assistant facility manager at MasterCard, and Jeff Costa, director corporate operations/facility management for Enterprise Holdings Inc., received funding to defray the cost of earning certification through professional development programs conducted by the international association of professional facility managers.

Ives will work on his designation as a Certified Facility Manager (CFM). The course work focuses on 11 key competencies for promoting and implementing best practices in facility management. Ives currently works at MasterCard as an employee of Cushman & Wakefield, with responsibilities for supporting facility managers in 30 countries. He has held a number of positions in facility management during his 17-year career.

A facility manager at Enterprise Holdings for more than 20 years, Costa already holds the CFM designation. He will now work toward his certification as a Sustainability Facility Professional (SFP). The credential focuses on the knowledge, skills and tools needed to develop sustainable facility management practices. Costa plans to adapt those sustainability practices to better manage the 8,000 retail locations operated by the car rental company.

“These scholarships empower our members to advance their abilities and their careers,” said James Delgado, president of IFMA St. Louis. “This also furthers our mission to underscore the critical role that facility managers play in influencing the health, safety, productivity and well-being of those who work in commercial buildings,” Delgado noted.
