2.1. Give us a brief description of your concept in 400 words maximum in the box below by answering the following questions: What will your start-up do? How does this represent an answer to the challenge?

Please describe what your business will do, how it will achieve this and give a brief description of the relevant technologies and implementations
Cees, business concept entail two-way process (1) To devise a single board microcontroller project based on Intel Galileo/Arduino board that uses (WSN) for real time electricity monitoring, (2) To design android based mobile application platform that monitor and control electricity usage, compensation process and finally connects customers with electricity suppliers via SMS.
Our mobile platform will include android based mobile application interfaced with C-meter microcontroller based on (Intel Galileo/Arduino);
Consumers Smartphone- Android App will permit the consumers to monitor the use of electricity by doing SMS and voice recognition commands such as balance inquiry, get meter status and finally also monitor connected domestic appliance.
Government of Kenya and public companies (Kenya power and lightning (KPLC), Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) will use our platform to collect electricity bills, estimate percentage of electrical energy being used per house, in a region e.g. Nairobi, Areas lacking electricity, Environment protected, Post information, get queries and resolve complaints from customers, this data will help them in making decision e.g. (that will help protect lives and property across a range of areas in the energy sector )

2.2. How does your startup use single board devices? in 200 words maximum

Please be very specific about what role single board technology will play in your project and why it is better than alternatives

With recent advancements in technology, single board Technology have become advanced enough to handle complicated operations, At Cees Inc., we have pioneered C-meter, it is a smart sensor for real-time electricity meter monitoring, it is a single board microcontroller device based on (Intel Galileo/Arduino) board that innovates the way of customary prepaid Meter Management.

INTERFACES

Well, c-meter is built on a heterogeneous networking infrastructure; it is able to interface directly to prepaid electricity meter via wireless connectivity

Consumer android based mobile application (android app) interfaced with c-meter via programming to the interface, for consumer’s interaction with prepaid electricity meter.

WIRELESS NETWORKING

On board Wireless LAN and WAN slots for PCI EXPRESS Mini Cards, Consumers can connect WIFI, Bluetooth, and GSM CARD, for connectivity or solid state driver for more storage.

WHY SINGLE BOARD TECHNOLOGY?

Single board devices are an affordable way to do relatively complex tasks for mobile

Electronic usage, their relatively low power consumption and computational ability make them ideal for systems that need to do real-time processing. They are easy to customize a certain task and can be easily integrated with a display for user interaction

2.3. Tell us more about the Innovation in 200 words maximum in the box below by answering the following questions: How is your solution different from other existing solutions that address the Challenge? What is the novelty?

Please describe how you are going to address the challenge. As innovation is a very important criterion of the winning start-up concepts, we would like to learn more about what makes it unique.
C-meter is a new innovation in the field of Electricity management; it is a smart sensor for real-time electricity meter monitoring, it is a single board microcontroller electronic device based on (Intel Galileo/Arduino) board that innovates the way of customary prepaid meter management. Current electricity meter are prepaid meters that enables power utilities to collect electricity bills from the consumers prior to its consumption but challenges arises as consumers find it hard to load prepaid electricity credits, get balance inquiry, get meter status via their mobile phones.
Well, c-meter is built on a heterogeneous networking infrastructure, it is interfaced with prepaid meter and consumer android based Mobile application (android app), it is a hassle free activity for the consumer’s interaction with prepaid electricity meter.
We will use SMS, instead of expensive in-home display (IHD) for consumer’s monitoring of electricity under the prepaid retail electricity service (PRES)

2.4. Tell us more about the Social Impact in 200 words maximum by answering the following questions: What has been and is the projected impact (over the next 1-3 years) of your initiative? Outline the quality and the quantity; describe how it makes a difference!

Demonstrate an understanding of the social background and context of the problem and how the solution will have a positive effect on the concerned / target group. Judges will be looking for applicants with strong knowledge of the background of the issues.
Social business are created to further a social purpose, our company social purpose is to abate society electricity energy usage through conservation and efficient design to obtain both economic and environmental welfares. Our smart sensor (c-meter) interfaced with consumer’s mobile phone and prepaid meter, it is a hassle free activity for consumer’s interaction with prepaid electricity meter. Currently, we do not have this seamless and direct communication channel especially here in Kenya.
Consumers (Household, people who have their own houses, Tenants) will benefit using SMS, instead of an expensive in-home display (IHD) for consumer’s controlling and monitoring of electricity. On the other hand entities such as “government, electrical energy utilities, researchers” who want to generate electrical energy based reports will benefit using SMS and Emails by sending messages to our system platform. Apart from generating reports (energy utilities) will use system platform to collect bills and interact with their customers,
Cees Inc, as a company will conduct data collection and provide “up to date statistical data about electricity energy consumption rate”, then share them with entities who are interested.

2.5. Tell us more about the Implementation in 200 words maximum by answering the following questions: How do you plan to go about developing your start-up? What are some of the milestones for your future development? What is the potential for growth?

Our Project Delivery plan will involve 9 phases which have both (Onshore & Offshore project activities) with flexible timelines
After a well conducted research and concept proven, our Developers in partnership with developers from a development company (Intel corporate) will be required to develop the system.
Phases involved are;
1.  Planning Phase
2.  Project requirement phase
3.  Design phase
4.  Implementation on c-meter platform phase(back end) phase
5.  Implementation on c-meter android phase(front end) phase
6.  Testing and validation phase
7.  Integration phase
8.  Deployment and training phase
9.  Documentation, monitoring & evaluation phase
(High-End) project delivery plan as Attached

2.6. Tell us more about the Feasibility in 200 words maximum by answering the following questions: How do you envision success for your initiative? What barriers might hinder it? How do you plan to overcome them? What momentum does your initiative have? What phase is it at and how will it advance?

Being always clear on what barriers you have and knowing how to tackle these is one of the most important abilities an entrepreneur can have. Show our judges where your initiative goes and how it will get there.
To enter the market space, as a start-up company, we will have to partner and collaborate with established companies e.g. (Intel Corporate etc) in development, marketing and product recognition in the industry. We will also connect with other entities such as energy utilities company “KPLC” with (KPLC) support we will acquire more customers in Kenya.
Our key milestone/success for first year operation will be a working product with services to appear for operations, product (c-meter) deployed and tested in Kenya. After successful product acceptance in Kenya, we will be thinking on how to reach new customers in Africa and global.
