28th National Annual Reunion
April 7-10, 2012

Hotel Stotsenburg at Clark Field in the Province of Pampanga, Philippines

Dear Members and Friends of the Philippine Scouts Heritage Society and Veterans of World War II,

We would like to invite you to our upcoming National Reunion. The Philippine Scouts Heritage Society will be having their 28th National Reunion in Fort Stotsenburg in the Province of Pampanga on April 7th to the 10th. It is an honor for our Society to be able to hold it there in the historical home of the 26th Cavalry Regiment of the U.S. Army Philippine Scouts which is nearby the Clark Freeport Zone.

The Philippine Scouts Heritage Society is a U.S. home-based organization dedicated to honoring and preserving the legacy of the United States Army’s Philippine Scouts who were under the command of General Douglas MacArthur during World War II. The Philippine Scouts were Filipino soldiers who were commanded mostly by American and some Filipino officers and were highly regarded as the U.S. Army’s best trained and best prepared soldiers prior to and during the early stages of the war in the Philippines. Had the American and Filipino forces not run out of ammunition, medicine and food, they could have prevented the fall of the Philippines to the Japanese Imperial Army.

Over 27 years ago, several former American officers of the Philippine Scouts and relatives of these Scouts joined to form a Society that will keep the memory of the valiant Philippine Scouts alive through annual reunions, living history re-enactments, guest lecturing in grade and high school history classes, and is usually participated by Philippine Scouts veterans, relatives of these veterans and people who share interest in Philippine Scout history and World War II history of the United States and the Philippines.

This year’s 28th Reunion will be very special to us. It will be the first time that our Reunion will be held on Philippine soil, the land where the Philippine Scouts, the U.S. Armed Forces and the many Filipino guerillas and civilians displayed their great valor and made their many great sacrifices so that we have the freedom we have today. We have many members that are thrilled that we are planning to be there in the Province of Pampanga, since Pampanga was one of the key provinces where the Philippine Scouts has a lot of history. It is our desire to hold our Reunion in the Philippines to allow remaining WW II Filipino veterans that live in the Philippines to attend so that we can give tribute to these remaining soldiers.

At this time, we have a Reunion Planning Committee in the U.S. and in the Philippines working on the details and logistics of the Reunion. In early February 2012 you will receive more information about our upcoming Reunion. Along with this invitation is the Reunion Registration form and an advertisement form for you to place a message in the Reunion Souvenir Book.

Best wishes to you and your family.
