Re:: IDOC Guidelines for Prison Parole Hearing Victims and Visitors

On behalf of IDOC and the Division of Prisons I would like to personally welcome you to IDOC’s prison facilities. IDOC recognizes the importance of Parole Hearings but also understands that they can be emotional for victims and visitors attending those hearings. In an effort to help you understand what is needed and allowed during your visit to our prisons, please review the following practices that all victims and visitors need to follow:

• You must bring photo identification. (a valid driver’s license, valid school ID card, valid passport)

• Do not bring cell phones, laptops, tablets, cameras, gaming devices or any other electronic devices.

• Please do not wear any of the following: sleeveless garments, bare midriffs, shorts, miniskirts, leggings, spandex, low-cut or see through clothing, hats, caps, bandanas, (exceptions may be made for headwear for medical reasons) **Skirts must be below the knee.

• Please secure your vehicle. Do not leave your doors unlocked. Put all personal items out of view or in your secured trunk.

• Please leave purses and wallets in your secured locked vehicle. You may bring small amounts of change for the vending machine.

• Please do not bring any food or drinks into the facility.

In advance, thank you for following these guidelines that allow for the safety of our visitors, staff and inmates. Please be aware that if you fail to comply with these guidelines, you may be denied entrance into the facility. If you have any specific questions or concerns about these guidelines, or need an exception due to a medical issue, please contact the Idaho Commission of Pardons and Parole, at (208) 334-2520.
