Pete Moulton – Saint Peter
Pete Moulton is the Director of Public Works for the City of Saint Peter where he leads a staff of 45 employeeswho administer the daily requirements of the water, wastewater, environmental services, streets, parks, stormwater, refuseand electrical divisions. Pete has worked in the Utilities industry for 37 years, the last 29 years with the community of Saint Peter. Pete is a graduate on Minnesota State University in Mankato with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and related studies in Human Resources Management and Urban Studies.
Pete continues to servethe Minnesota Section beginning when he was selected as the Southwest District Trustee and rising to lead the Minnesota Section as Section Chair. As the Southwest Section Trustee Pete began working with other AWWA communities and state agencies to initiate the development of the Minnesota Water and Wastewater Agency Response Network (MnWARN). MnWARN has been instrumental in preparing Utility systems to meet needs during emergency situations and improve operations during times of crisis. In 2008, the governing board of the Minnesota Section appointed Pete to serve as the AWWA Representative on the MnWARN Board. MnWARN has grown from four (4) members in 2008 to over 353 members in 2016. Pete continues to serve as Chair of the MnWARN Board having served in this capacity for the past 8 years. Pete also serves on the State Plumbing Board. In 2011, the Minnesota Section endorsed Pete to represent public water suppliers on the State Plumbing Board.
Pete was recognized by the American Water Works Association (AWWA) receiving their top award the “George Warren Fuller” Award in 2012 and the Minnesota Sections highest award the “Leonard M. Thompson” in 2015. Pete was also honored to receive the “Meritorious Service Award” from the Minnesota Section back in 1995. Pete continues to lead section members by serving the AWWA as Vice-Chair to the Water Utility Council (WUC) where he has been involved with legislative efforts to shape the future for community water suppliers.
