ENR SOUTHWEST RECOGNIZES TWO SUNDT EMPLOYEE-OWNERS AS 2017 TOP YOUNG PROFESSIONALS
TEMPE, Arizona (Jan. 18, 2017) – Engineering News-Record Southwest named Greg Ayres and Chad Buck of Sundt Construction’s Industrial Group to its 2017 Top Young Professionals list.
Vice President and Project Executive Greg Ayres is an Arizona native who has been with Sundt since 2005. He is a graduate of Northern Arizona University’s construction management program and a Certified Professional Constructor through the American Institute of Constructors.
Ayres has led teams on a number of significant projects including Salt River Project’s Coronado Generating Station; a sulfur dioxide emissions reduction project; Molycorp Minerals Rare Earth Mine, Sundt’s development into the semiconductor market and multiple large water and wastewater treatment plants throughout the Southwest.
Ayres is a member of Junior Achievement of Arizona, an organization that inspires and prepares young people to succeed in a global economy. He has been a member of the NAU Construction Management Advisory Board for the last 14 years, providing industry advice to further develop the construction management program. He is a 10-year member of the Arizona Water Association and the Water Environmental Federation.
Vice President of Preconstruction for the Industrial Group Chad Buck joined Sundt in 2008. He also graduated from Northern Arizona University with a bachelor’s in construction management and earned his Master’s of Business Administration from Arizona State University.
He has a diverse background in multiple construction sectors, including general industrial, semiconductor, power, water/wastewater treatment, mining and commercial.
Buck takes an active role in a number of industry and community pursuits. He participates in the Arizona Society of Professional Estimators and NAU’s construction management program. He has volunteered with Andre House in downtown Phoenix, the Sundt Foundation and coaches Little League baseball.
Buck is a Certified Professional Constructor, a Designated Design-Build Professional through the Design-Build Institute of America, a LEED Accredited Professional through the United States Green Building Council and an Arizona Builders Alliance Leadership Development Forum Program graduate.
The Top Young Professionals award is given to architecture, construction and engineering leaders under the age of 40. The award is based on industry experience and education; career and industry leadership and community service and involvement.
