New Course rationale: Allied health programs such as Nursing require a comprehensive course in chemistry that would cover inorganic, organic and biological chemistry. BIOL101 should fulfill the requirement. At this point, MSJC students who are applying to BSN programs ( Loma Linda University, San Diego State University etc) are being sent to near by community colleges such as RCC, SBCC to complete this requirement. In addition, Microbiology needs this course as a prerequisite. Current chemistry courses are not fulfilling the needs of the students.

A. Revision of AA/AS Degree in Physical Education
Rationale: Presently the PE degree requires 18 units of physical education courses (any PE class). This does not help our students meet the basic requirements of physical education departments at the Cal State/University level. The proposed change will help students transfer into a physical education major as a 3rd year college student instead of trying to catch up to the program due to the lack of requirements at MSJC.
