Northern New Forest Pony Supporters Annual Show 2009
Wow what a success this year's show was!The new venue proved very popular and there were some big, strong classes. The NPS qualifying status brought out some lovely, quality ponies and it was great to see so many new faces inthe Forest section, with lots of people having a go at a range of classes. It was also encouraging to see more children and young people enjoying their Forest ponies. This means that we may be able to offer junior ridden classes in the future. The only numerically small classes were the Forest youngstock and some sections of the WHP classes.... although those forward in both, met with very favourable comments from the judges. If you are out there with a youngster or a budding WHP please come along and support these classes next year.
This year's Supreme M&M in Showwas a super, typeysection A stallion Brynrhodyn Darius, Champion of a very an impressive ridden section. Darius was piloted by well-known producer Mandy Jackson. However the Foresters were well represented in theSupreme and the New Forest mare Highfox Evensong, returning to the ringfor the first time in two years took the Reserve Supremespot. Evensong was also our 2009 Overall New Forest Pony Champion.

To Judith Carter (again!) and Charlotte Robinson for stepping in at the last moment to steward, to the two Pauls for taking the non-stop flow of entries. To Gwen Sawyerfor planning and organising the eventandforkeeping things running smoothly on the day itself. Members may be pleased to know we made a healthy profit for the NNFPSG - no mean feat in the present climate. Many thanks also to everyone who came and supported the show.
