PMC Organometallix-DOW CORNING COMMUNITY ADVISORY PANEL OF CARROLLTON SCHOLARSHIP

The Community Advisory Panel (CAP) will offer a four-year scholarship in the amount of $5,000.00, dispersed annually in the amount of $1,250.00 to one student who will be selected from Carroll County High School or the Christian Academy of Carrollton. The student must be planning to pursue a career in one of the following programs: math, engineering, chemistry, industrial maintenance, industrial health and safety, and environmental sciences at an accredited college, university or technical school. Scholarship monies are limited to the recipient in conjunction with his/her acceptance at an accredited college, university or technical school.

The award of the scholarship will be submitted in the form of a check to the appropriate educational institution and must be claimed no later than October 1 of the year awarded. Failure to claim the scholarship will result in awarding it to the next eligible candidate.

Requirements:

1.  Two letters of recommendation, at least one from a teacher (preferably a teacher in the area of math or science)

2.  Official High School transcript

3.  An essay explaining the importance of the relationship of industry and community (No more than two pages, 12 pt. Times New Roman font)

4.  Completed application

Applicants will be considered on the quality of the application. A point system will be implemented for a total of fifty points. Ten points each will be designated to Awards/Achievements, Community Service, Extracurricular Activities and twenty points for the Essay.
