BupaCare Scheme Offers

off private health cover.

Sussex University in conjunction with IHC are giving you a chance to enjoy the benefits of private medical cover with Bupa - the UK's leading provider of private health cover, at a specially negotiated discount of 37% * on the BupaCare scheme.
Taking out BupaCare private medical cover means you'll get access to high standards of private medical treatment for eligible conditions at a time to suit you, at a nationwide network of Bupa approved hospitals.

What is BupaCare?

BupaCare offers you cover for private medical treatment in the UK by Bupa-recognised consultants, therapists and practitioners. Out-patient, day-patient and in-patient treatment are all included, right from initial consultation through to specialist hospital and aftercare treatment.
Cover for hospital treatment is at hospitals included in the nationwide network of Bupa participating hospitals.

Does the scheme cover any of my family?

As an affiliation, Bupa together with IHC can cover you, your spouse/partner and any unmarried children up to the age of 21 (or 24 if in full time education).

Can I choose to pay an excess with BupaCare?

Yes, to help reduce your subscriptions even further you can opt to pay an excess of £100, £150, £250 or £500 which is payable once per person, per membership year and only if you claim. This means that you agree to pay the first part of any claim for eligible treatment costs up to the amount of your excess each membership year.

Are there any extra features and benefits?

It is important to Bupa that when our members are treated in any UK hospital recognised by Bupa they receive high standards of clinical and customer care.
BupaCare offers cover for hospital treatment at any one of Bupa’s participating hospitals - one of our most extensive hospital networks. These participating hospitals may change from time to time.

Are there any exclusions particular to BupaCare?

In addition to the general exclusions explained in the Association of British Insurers consumer guide 'Are you buying private medical insurance?', BupaCare does not cover you for:
·  Treatment for pre-existing conditions or a disease, illness or injury which results from or is related to a pre-existing condition
·  Treatment for conditions of symptoms arising from physiological or natural causes (e.g. ageing, menopause or puberty) or desensitisation of allergies
