VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:Office Administration–Health & Safety and Buildings

We are looking for a volunteer to support our work by assisting our friendly and experienced Grounds and Reserves teamswith a range of office administrative tasks. In this role you will assistwith day-to-day administration such as keeping our electronic systems up-to-date, inputting data, changing the format of some documents. Who will be responsible for your role? Buildings Manager
Where will you be based? WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre
How much time will it take?1 to 2 days a week minimum
The role could be partially home-based
The exact hours you are able to contribute will be discussed prior to placement
What will you be doing?
- Assisting the Buildings Manager with operational and Health & Safety documentation.
- Organising and filing appropriate Health and Safety documentation.
- Excel data input.
- Providing database assistance to staff and volunteers within WWT’s teams.
- Preparing Grounds/Reservestaff and volunteer teamrosters and transferring information onto daily briefing sheets.
- Tracking holidays and preparing holiday sheets for staff cover.
- Assistingwith updating staff calendars and distributing key information with other department teams.
- Monitoring emails into the general address box and actioning appropriately.
- Accepting and signing for deliveries and advising the appropriate recipient.
- Checking and sorting appropriate files & keeping information up to date.
- Assistance with general administration including: shredding, recycling, photocopying, mailing things.
Who are we looking for?
You will need to be / have:
- Experience in an office administrative setting is desirable.
- The ability to work as part of friendly and busy team.
- Good IT skills with confidence in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Organised with a high level of communication skills.

General notes
This position may require helping out on other days in addition to rota days but this will be infrequent and will be agreed with your head of department and will be subject to your availability.
You will need your own transport to get to the centre as it is 2 miles from the nearest public transport in Burscough. We regret that we are not in a position to reimburse expenses incurred for travel to the site.
This position is entirely voluntary and is therefore unpaid. Any offer of a volunteer placement is not intended to create a legally binding contract between us and any agreement may be cancelled at any time at the discretion of either party. Neither of us intends any employment relationship to be created either now or at any time in the future.
