Grading and Attendance

The labs are worth 40% of your overall grade. Concepts introduced in lab will be found on the exams. Attendance is mandatory. If you miss a lab without discussing it with either the TA or the instructor you will receive a zero for that lab. Therefore, please contact your TA prior to your lab section if you cannot be in class and arrangements will be made.

Please read the Homework Instructions available in the class website and make sure to follow those rules. You will have a lab assignment due on either Friday or Monday at 4 pm. Please turn in a hardcopy of your lab to my Guggenheim mailbox (1st floor near dept. office). You may turn in 1 late lab (no late labs will be accepted after graded labs have been returned), and the lowest lab grade will be dropped at the end of the semester.

Assignments and Field Trips

Many of the lab assignments will be computer based. We will work in Excel and the data will be available on the course website. Please have some way to save your work (i.e. disc, email, University server, etc.). Always bring your calculator, ruler, and pencil. Access to the lab door will also be given to you. I will need the last 9 digits of you Buffone card.

We will have a field trip to Boulder Creek near campus. Please wear appropriate clothing.
